Ohio is 3-0 in the MAC and has won four in a row. Penny Trautman builds every argument brick by brick. Imogen Tremblay builds hers cell by cell, color-coded. Saturday in Athens, the spreadsheet meets the wall.
Eastern Michigan (4-4) at Ohio (5-2), Saturday at 4:00 p.m. ET on ESPNU at Peden Stadium. It's a MAC game, Senior Day and Heroes Day, and Ohio's last Saturday home game of 2026. DraftKings has Ohio Bobcats −10.5 with a total of 49.5. My card: Ohio Bobcats −10.5, Over 49.5, and a final of Ohio Bobcats 31, Eastern Michigan Eagles 19.
Penny speaks for Ohio. "We run for 207 yards a game, 24th in FBS. Nick Poulos has five touchdown passes and no interceptions. We beat Sacramento State 48-7. That's a sturdy wall, Imogen."
Imogen speaks for Eastern Michigan, with a spreadsheet tab devoted to the gray turf. "Noah Kim has 1,678 yards and 11 touchdowns, Penny. Joshua Long, a tight end, leads us with 38 catches. Highlight that cell in green. And we've already won three road games."
Why Ohio by more than 10.5? The run game against the pass game. Eastern Michigan throws for 215 yards a game and runs for 105, which ranks 128th. A one-dimensional offense on the road against a team that runs it 207 a game is how you lose the clock and the game. Kim went 16 of 36 in last week's 34-14 loss to Toledo. Ohio has also won the last four meetings, including 35-10 in Athens in 2024. My final has the Bobcats by 12.
The caveat is Ohio's third-down defense. Opponents convert 42.1%, 106th in FBS, and Eastern Michigan converts 41.9% of its own, 56th. If the Eagles keep moving the chains, they keep it inside the number. Eastern Michigan's run defense is also middle of the pack, allowing 142.3 yards a game, so this won't be a total wipeout either way.
Why the Over? Ohio's ground game should roll, and Kim will throw enough to put up points late. My 31-19 adds up to 50, half a point over 49.5. Tight, and every voice in the room agrees with it.
Now the room. Next Man Up has the biggest Ohio number, 34-18, and likes the Bobcats. Letdown Watch has my exact final, 31-19. Follow The Money has 30-20 and likes Ohio, and In The Trenches likes the Bobcats too. The Formula has the same 30-20 as Follow The Money and takes Eastern Michigan +10.5.
Next Man Up opened: "Thirty-four to 18. Senior Day, Heroes Day, last Saturday home game. Ohio rolls."
The Formula answered: "Thirty to 20. That's ten. The line is 10.5. I'll take the half point and Imogen's spreadsheet."
Then The Formula turned to Follow The Money: "You're laying 10.5 with Ohio and you won't even touch the total? Your spreadsheet has a typo."
Follow The Money: "I don't use spreadsheets. I use instincts. And snacks."
Bottom of the card: a home team that runs it, a road team that can't, and the last Saturday crowd at Peden. Bring a hard hat, Penny says. I'll lay the 10.5.
Ohio Bobcats 31, Eastern Michigan Eagles 19. Ohio Bobcats cover the 10.5. Over 49.5.
