No. 2 BYU (6-0, 3-0 Big 12) at UCF (3-3, 1-2 Big 12). Saturday, Oct. 24, 3:30 p.m. ET, Acrisure Bounce House, Orlando, Fox.
Your hosts are Bryce Halvorsen-Tuilagi, a BYU superfan whose dad jokes are so clean they sparkle, and Knox Brevard-Stiles, a UCF roller-coaster devotee who runs a Ride Check before every big game.
Bryce: Why did the Cougar bring a ladder to Orlando? Because he heard the house bounces. I'll see myself out.
Knox: Ride Check: maximum bounce requested. This season's had ups and downs, Bryce, but we're still strapped in.
Players to watch
BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier has 1,257 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions. Wide receiver Legend Glasker has 444 receiving yards, and AP writers named him the Big 12's top first-year freshman at midseason. Running back LJ Martin has 344 yards. Tausili Akana has 3.5 sacks, and Cade Uluave has 35 tackles. BYU allows 15.2 points per game.
UCF quarterback Keyone Jenkins has 806 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions. Running back Duke Watson leads with 483 rushing yards. Wide receiver Josh Derry has 28 catches for 304 yards. Isaiah Nixon has 2.5 sacks, and Tackett Curtis has 39 tackles.
Bryce: Glasker's numbers are like my jokes. They just keep landing.
What happened last week
BYU beat No. 2 Notre Dame 28-24, its first win over the Irish since 2004 and its first over a top-10 team since 2018. Bachmeier threw for 224 yards, ran for two touchdowns and caught another. He threw the go-ahead 6-yard touchdown to Walker Lyons with 1:47 left. Afterward the Big 12 said time remained on the clock when the final pass hit the ground and the play was cleared incorrectly. The score stands, and the conference will review its end-of-game process.
UCF had an open date. Its last game was a 42-28 loss at Oklahoma State, where Jenkins threw for 265 yards and four touchdowns.
Knox: Bye week means the ride got a full safety inspection.
Injuries and availability
The official Big 12 report for this game has not been published yet, and no injury news has surfaced for BYU. Check the report before kickoff for UCF's quarterback room, too.
What the coaches are up to
Kalani Sitake played fullback at BYU under LaVell Edwards and is the first Tongan head coach in college football. This is the third straight season his team has started 6-0.
Scott Frost is in his second stint at UCF; he coached the Knights in 2016 and 2017. As a player, he led Nebraska to the 1997 national championship. His Knights are 3-0 at home this season.
Player storylines
Watson against a BYU run defense allowing about 86.2 yards per game is the key matchup for UCF. Bachmeier and Glasker face a UCF pass defense allowing about 236.8 yards per game. History is the subplot. BYU is the highest-ranked opponent ever to play at UCF, and the Knights are 0-5 at home against top-10 teams.
What's happening on campus
It's UCF Homecoming Week, Oct. 18-25. Spirit Splash returns to the Reflecting Pond on Oct. 23, with thousands of students running into the water after a custom rubber duck. Concert Knight brings Soulja Boy and Waka Flocka Flame, and Jay Pharoah headlines Comedy Knight. McKenzie Milton is in the 2026 UCF Athletics Hall of Fame class. Alumni tailgates open three hours before kickoff at the FAIRWINDS Alumni Center.
Anything else fun and true
UCF's first homecoming was in 1971, and football didn't start until 1979. After BYU, UCF hosts Baylor on Oct. 30 for the annual Space Game.
Bryce: Spirit Splash? I'd catch that duck. Then I'd make a pun about it. Something about a quack defense. I'm workshopping.
Knox: Keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times, Bryce. The Bounce House doesn't do refunds on the loops.
