Air Force hasn't lost a fumble in 549 straight plays dating to 2025. Colter Sprague's response to just about everything is one word, and the word is "Yep."
Air Force (5-1) at Wyoming (4-3), Friday at 9:00 p.m. ET on CW at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie. It's a Mountain West game, and both teams are 3-1 in league play. DraftKings has Air Force Falcons −5.5 with a total of 45.5. My card: Air Force Falcons −5.5, Over 45.5, and a final of Air Force Falcons 26, Wyoming Cowboys 20.
Lt. Col. (Ret.) Marissa Okonkwo-Hale speaks for Air Force, a retired instructor pilot who gives everybody a call sign. "Tower, this is Falcon One. We run for 343.0 yards a game, second in FBS, and we hold the ball 36:22 a game. Colter, your call sign is Quiet Man."
Colter speaks for Wyoming, a Laramie ranch kid in a Carhartt who counts his words. "We're 3-0 at home. Hughes is tough." That's the whole speech.
He's right about Tyler Hughes. The Wyoming quarterback went 16 of 19 for 196 yards and ran for a career-high 183 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-23 win over Northern Illinois. He has 1,018 passing yards and more than 450 rushing yards this year.
So why Air Force? The option and the turnover margin. Wyoming's run defense ranks 101st, at 172.1 yards a game, and it's minus-7 in turnovers, 131st in FBS. Air Force doesn't give the ball away. Three Falcon ball carriers topped 95 yards against UNLV, and Evan Medders ran for 152 yards and three scores to win it 41-31. Air Force has won four in a row, including 14-9 over Navy. My final has the Falcons by six, half a point past the number.
The caveat: Air Force hasn't named its starting quarterback. Liam Szarka leads the season stats, Medders carried the UNLV game. And Wyoming went 5-4 against Air Force from 2016 to 2025, which Colter describes, in full, as "close."
Why the Over? Both teams just scored 41. Hughes makes plays with his legs, and Air Force's ground game will find room against that run defense. My 26-20 adds up to 46, half a point over 45.5.
Now the room. The Formula has Air Force 27-18 and likes the Falcons, while In The Trenches sits this one out. Next Man Up and Letdown Watch both have Air Force 25-20, so both take Wyoming +5.5 and the Under. Follow The Money likes Wyoming too, plus the Over.
Next Man Up opened: "Twenty-five to 20. Five points. It's Laramie on a Friday night, and the Cowboys are unbeaten at home."
The Formula answered: "And they're minus-7 in turnovers against a team that never fumbles. Do the arithmetic."
Letdown Watch turned on Follow The Money: "Wyoming with us, fine. But the Over? Next Man Up and I both have 25-20."
Follow The Money: "We agree on the side. That's as friendly as I get."
Bottom of the card: a team that hasn't lost a fumble all season against a home team that gives it away. Marissa calls this one Ball Security. Colter says "Go Pokes." I'll lay the 5.5 and take the Over.
Air Force Falcons 26, Wyoming Cowboys 20. Air Force Falcons cover the 5.5. Over 45.5.
