It's a playoff-résumé showdown in Provo. No. 2 Notre Dame (6-0) visits No. 8 BYU (5-0, 3-0 Big 12) at 7:30 on ABC, and both teams want a signature win for the committee to remember.
Notre Dame insider Declan Moriarty-Chen treats every game like a thesis defense. He opens with "I would posit" and points to CJ Carr's 16 touchdowns against one interception and an Irish defense ESPN ranks first in the country. BYU insider Bryce Halvorsen-Tuilagi responds with a squeaky-clean "Oh my heck!" He's thrilled with Bear Bachmeier's eight touchdowns and one interception and Legend Glasker's long catches.
Notre Dame has some injuries up front. Offensive linemen Charles Jagusah and Chris Terek are out, along with safety Brauntae Johnson. Leonard Moore and Jason Onye are questionable but trending toward playing. No major BYU absences were found. Calm weather and a full stadium set the stage.
Our call: Notre Dame 28, BYU 17.
