The Victory Bell is at stake at Wallace Wade Stadium. North Carolina (3-2, 1-1 ACC) visits Duke (4-1, 1-1) at 3:30 on ESPN2 in a rivalry that both fan bases circle every year.
North Carolina insider Ainsley Pemberton never misses a chance to tease Duke, even when Duke isn't the topic. She arrives happy after last Saturday's 21-17 win at Pitt, with Billy Edwards Jr. and Jordan Shipp leading the way. Duke insider Harrison Wexley-Moore IV mentions all of his degrees and insists the Blue Devils can adapt. They'll need to. Star running back Nate Sheppard, who has 743 yards in five games, is questionable, and so are starting center Matt Craycraft and cornerback Evan Smith.
Duke is also missing receivers Jamien Little, Blake Rohrer and Qeanu Johnson, plus kicker Cosme Salas. North Carolina's secondary is thin too, with cornerback Tre Miller and defensive back Jakob Weatherspoon out and nickel Kaleb Cost doubtful. Walker Eget has thrown just one interception, and gusts near 30 mph could make every kick an adventure.
Our call: Duke 23, North Carolina 21.
