Undefeated James Madison (6-0, 3-0 Sun Belt) welcomes a rested and dangerous Georgia State (4-1, 1-0) to Bridgeforth Stadium at noon on ESPNU. The Sun Belt race is at stake.
JMU insider Lila Shenandoah turns every stat into a cheer. She's chanting about George Pettaway's 648 rushing yards and Camden Coleman's 11 touchdowns against one interception. Georgia State insider Malik Overstreet rates opponents by Atlanta traffic. He points out that Cameran Brown has 12 touchdown passes and that Rodshaun Dorsey has turned 18 catches into six scores. He's also enjoying the Panthers' extra week of preparation.
The Dukes' quarterback room has been a little cloudy. JC Evans returned against Georgia Southern, and reports differ on who starts, but Coleman leads the team in passing. Either way, JMU's identity is Pettaway and a physical run game. Georgia State hasn't played since a 42-10 win over Old Dominion on Oct. 3, while the Dukes are coming off a 27-24 road win. Wind gusts in the low 20s could make passing harder.
Our call: James Madison 35, Georgia State 25.
